An exciting new beginning..
Although I haven't really been working for myself for the last couple of years, I can't say it's been boring! I've had many different jobs, all of which have provided me with some great experience and allowed me to meet some truly lovely people, many of which I hope will remain good friends! The highlight of this year has to be working for Chesterfield College, as Coordinator of West Studios (looking after my old shared studio spaces). It was brilliant to back there amongst old friends and colleagues and I was hard to have to leave a role I so loved prematurely.. However, a new and exciting opportunity awaited - for me and the family to start an new life and adventure in the Republic of Ireland!
So that's where we are now - in our new home in Ireland and looking forward to Christmas! I'm excited at the prospect of working on new projects and am currently producing some marketing material to put out there in the new year.
Also, as there doesn't seem to be a particular hub for creative businesses or artists in the locality, I am going to make some enquires to see about setting up some shared studios for rent. I am much happier when not working in isolation and hopefully there will be other creative individuals/artists around who will be interested in the idea...
